POSITIVE FOR A DELETERIOUS MUTATION
Multisite 3 BRACAnalysis® involves analysis of only three specific mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 for individuals of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. Among Ashkenazi Jewish individuals who carry a mutation in BRCA1 or BRCA2, greater than 80% carry one of these three mutations – 187delAG in BRCA1, 5385insC in BRCA1, or 6174delT in BRCA2.

BRACAnalysis® Positive for a Deleterious Mutation or Suspected Deleterious A positive for a deleterious mutation test result means that a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation analyzed in this panel was detected, indicating an increased risk for cancers associated with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome.
